Day 3

Hey all! Day three is coming to an end. I finished up my travels and am in Arizona, now. I am staying in Many Farms, Arizona temporarily and will go to work tomorrow in Chinle, AZ. I saw an Ontario plate today. =D So, I got to Chinle this evening right in the middle of a dust storm! Yuck!!! Dust everywhere and it's super windy here. They have promised me it isn't always like this. ;) We'll see....   Anyway, I am staying with a fellow nurse out here for two weeks and then will move into the lodge in Chinle. Last night I stayed at the Ashmore Inn and Suites in Amarillo, TX. It was a very beautiful hotel. The room was nice, not as fancy as the Hampton, but still nice. The bed was very comfy. Of course, the cable was nice too. =D Hehe. I fell asleep watching a movie on te Trinity Broadcasting Network. It was a movie about this woman (mid 20's to early 30's I think) that got pregnant and wasn't sure what to do. Gave me tears....of course, movies like that usually do. So here in AZ I have no cable right now, and now radio on a stereo. I stream the radio on my comp. This dust storm is awful! It makes the house make funny noises...which is freaky. The nurse I'm staying with works nights, so she isn't home tonight. Well, I'll check in tomorrow. I'm tired and have to get up in the morning. Toodles!! P.S. Changed time zone on comp so post times will be 2 hours earlier than eastern time. =)

Day 2

Hey all! So my second day of travel is coming to an end. The hotel last night was great! I stayed at the Hampton Inn in Longview. My room had a king bed, jacuzzi tub, mini-fridge, and microwave. The bed's comforter was down-like. It was marvelous....sleeping on a cloud. Though that might have just been due to the fact that I was sooo tired! =) Anyway, traveled from Longview to Amarillo today. I'm at my hotel now. It's very pretty. It has an indoor pool and hot tub, plus on-site laundry. The drive was long, but not too bad. The last stretch was the hardest.....flat, green, flat, and more flat. Though as I neared Amarillo, there was more mesas and plateaus and the such. It was very beautiful! I met up with a friend of mine from 6th grade for lunch in Roanoke, Texas (Dallas/Ft. Worth area). We ate at Chili's. I had miniburgers with fries and mashed potatoes plus a diet cherry coke. It was yummy. I've drank a bit of soda on this journey, but I've concluded that staying alert while driving was more important that the amt of caffeine I've intaken today. =) Hehe. Anyway, I saw 8 trains today but 2 were actually moving...weird. What was cool, was that two of them had coal cars: cars that carry coal (and they actually had coal in them) plus one had what looked like a coal-powered car. It was smoking along. It was neat. I've seen quite a few license plates since my journey started. For those of you who don't know my travel tradition, any time I travel I watch license plates to see if I can get all 50 states. I've gotten pretty close too. I think the greatest number I've seen is 47! And no, the last three didn't include both Alaska and Hawaii. I saw an Alaskan plate on the journey. =) Well, I'm off to bed. I'm bushed! Night!!

Day 1

Okay, so I left from home around 9am, stopping by church to say goodbye to my Moppetts workers. They gave me a fabric basket and even had it embroidered. They are so caring and sweet! I love it! I've never really had anything embroidered with my name (at least since highschool besides the colorguard stuff and letter jacket). I've never had baskets, and things like that embroidered. Anyway, it's awesome and it's green! =) So I drove all day today. I drove through Alabama, Mississippi, and Louisiana, and now I am in Longview, Texas. I will be driving again tomorrow to Amarillo, TX, stopping in Ft. Worth to visit a friend from middle school...that was a long time ago. =) Some interesting things I saw along the way was the Statue of Liberty in Alabama, some sort of motorcycle ride (not sure if race, charity, or funeral ride) in Alabama as well, and I drove through Cuba.....hehe. Cuba, Alabama that is. =) Oh funny sign, you know how we have the bridge ices before road signs? Well, I saw one that said (and I quote) "Bridge may ice in cold weather". Wow, I would never have thought! haha. Anyway, I'm at the hotel now and I'm tired, so I'm gonna get some sleep. Toodles!!
